Jury Duty

So here I sit in the jury "lounge" waiting and waiting and waiting. Its been almost 2 hours since I arived (along with 150 others) and nothing has been assigned yet. Good time to gather my thoughts.

I am starting a blog at work now (not yet titled) and it should be interesting. While we don't want to promote our products and services directly, they want me to allude to them in such a way that we become top of mind. We'll see.

So the news of today is the President's announcement of more troops to Afghanistan. I was OK with this but I heard this morning that there may only be 100 Al Quada (sp) members in the whole country. Seems like there should be a better way.

Unfortunately for the US the TOP story is not this, but about Tiger Woods escapades. As most of you know I am a big fan of Tiger ON THE GOLF COURSE. Unbelievable what he can do. But when I think about how many kids he let down with this, what a bummer. I know we're all human though, so let's see how this gets "handled". He already is surprised at how the tabloids have gone after him (really?) but I think it will now only intensify. Anyway, he won't be in the public eye until Torrey Pines in mid-January. Seeing as one of his accusers is from SD (Escondido) what are the chances that his wife and kids will be in tow for that tourney?

My mother-in-law is moving into hospice today. I feel fortunate that we had so much time with her this summer, and stunned at how quickly her health has turned. She now has a myriad of problems, but it all goes back to a life which included heavy cigarette usage. Congrats tobacco industry! Your research (you know, the research you buried while you were juicing nicotene levels?) is conclusive. Bastards.

They just announced a pretty light case load so hopefully I'll be out of here soon.
